Martin D. Bastuba, M.D., F.A.C.S, Tissue Bank Scientific Director and President

sperm-bank-directorDr. Bastuba, M.D., F.A.C.S., is the founder and medical director of Male Fertility & Sexual Medicine Specialists in San Diego. He is part of the elite group of 2% of board-certified urologists in the U.S. who specialize in the treatments and procedures regarding male fertility. When he is not serving as the scientific director at FCC, he is known as one of the nation's leading vasectomy and vasectomy reversal surgeons.

Dr. Bastuba is a frequent guest lecturer and a consulting medical expert for local and national TV. He has served as president of both the San Diego Reproductive Endocrine Society and San Diego Urologic Society and is currently a clinical instructor of urology at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine. Dr. Bastuba is board-certified by the American Board of Urology. He has published and contributed to a number of research studies in his areas of expertise.

Grace Centola, PH.D., HCLD/CC/ALD (ABB)
Lab Director

Grace Centola, PH.D.Grace Centola, is a national and internationally recognized specialist in clinical laboratory andrology and reproductive tissue banking. Dr. Centola is proficient in state and federal regulatory aspects of cell and tissue banking. She is board certified as a High Complexity Clinical Laboratory Director (H.C.L.D.), a Clinical Consultant (CC) and an Andrology Laboratory Director (ALD) by the American Board of Bioanalysis.

Dr. Centola received a Ph.D. from Georgetown University in 1978, and has been a significant presence in andrology for more than 25 years. She has published over 40 peer reviewed scientific articles, over 70 abstract presentations at national conferences, and 16 book chapters. She is a reviewer for several national and international journals and has presented more than 50 invited seminars.

Cindy Jansen, C.N.P., M.S.N.
Nurse Practitioner

Cindy Jansen, C.N.P., M.S.N.Cindy Jansen completed her Masters in Nursing at University of California, Los Angeles in 1986. Initially she worked as a Nurse Practitioner in general obstetrics and gynecology. Since 2000, she has specialized in the care of the infertility patient including advanced reproductive technology (IVF) management. She serves as a consultant for donor and surrogate agencies and is acknowledged for her expertise in FDA regulations in third party reproduction. She is a member of American Society of Reproductive Medicine. She currently oversees fertility services in our Tustin, California office, including infertility evaluation, ovulation induction, ultrasound monitoring, and intrauterine inseminations.
